Professional Activists Guild Protests Sierra Club for Using "Scab" Protestors

Sierra Club President Aaron Mair came head to head with PAG Leader Bette R. Kayve over Sierra Club's usage of "Scab" Protestors for several of their most recent protest events. including the opposition of the TPP where Sierra Club Employed members of Teamsters Local 728 last August. Although technically Union Members, Local 728 is not a Member of the PAG (Professional Activist Guild) which require its members to have an accredited degree in Social Justice.

The issue stemmed from budget cutbacks going back over two decades, and can no longer afford the high price of hiring PAG Members for its protests.

In an odd twist, PAG itself, facing budget cutbacks due to loss of revenue from not only Sierra Club, but other NGOs - had to similarly subcontract "Scab" Protestors in order to protest Sierra Club hiring "Scab" Protestors. Ms. Kayve said "...it is unfortunate that we have to do this, and are planning to protest against ourselves as soon as we are financially able." She clarified the decision by adding "It's not like we can do that with Scab Protestors. Our Charter requires us to use Guild Members for that level of Protest."
